OLAV LEDEN NYTRØEN
King is the captain of Tre Skjeggete Menn. Literally, he works on a boat when he is not singing. Sometimes he sings on boats too, but thats another story.
Olav "grew up" in Norways most famous boys choir, Sølvguttene ("The silver boys"), and transcended from soprano through alto to tenor. There are very few choirs who haven't had the pleasure of singing along with him as a stable and strong tenor, and oftentimes people are confused by how much sound he can make even while using his head voice.
As an opera singer, Olav enjoys using as much power he has and sings out with a full on tenor voice, but in the quartet he is using another technique completely - more of the silver shimmer from his youth, functioning as a counter-tenor.
Today some of his favorite projects are Tre Skjeggete Menn, Christiania Mannskor and The Choir of the National Opera in Oslo. In addition he is used as a soloist, preferably for romantic music.
